Gaby Sanchez named NL Player of the Week
All season, Gaby Sanchez has been the Marlins’ most consistent hitter.
And over the past seven games, the 27-year-old first baseman also set the standard for hitting in the National League.
After leading the league in hits (13), RBIs (10) and total bases (22), Sanchez was named the National League Player of the Week on Monday.
It was the first career weekly award for Sanchez, who will receive a watch.
Sanchez also is the second Marlin this year to be honored with a prestigious award. Josh Johnson was named the NL Pitcher of the Month in April.
